BRIEF

Create a visual experience that humanises E.ON and makes customers realise they are more than just an energy provider. Design a set of components that could be used to create “exploration” pages – used to showcase E.ONs product offering in a visually impacting and non salesy way.

Initially all of the components and layouts I designed were to be used for certain customer journeys, such as when a user logged out. The highly visual pages aimed to keep users engaged, allowing them to explore and uncover content they were interested in. However the components were eventually used as part of the wider site and homepage.

 

Style
E.ON have a bright colour palette and brand ethos. They were especially keen to use the branding elements of the vertical coloured lines –  they called these “layers”. The layers concept can be seen throughout the designs I created and were also incorporated into motion and transitions with the layers moving right to left when more content was revealed.

Wider project
All of the components and page layouts I designed had the ability to be used for both the consumer and business sides of the site. I worked within the wider team to deliver components to developers, source photography and re-imagine some of the current pages on the site to work with our new component library.
